Denis Cheryshev (Russian: Денис Черышев; born 26 December 1990 in Nizhny Novgorod), is a Spanish-Russian footballer who plays for Real Madrid Castilla, as a winger. He is the son of former Russian player Dmitri Cheryshev. Denis is also a naturalized Spanish citizen, however, so far, he has made his debut for the Russia U-21 national football team.
Cheryshev started his career in Sporting de Gijón, while his father was playing for the first team of the club and then moved to Real Madrid's youth ranks on 2002, making his professional debut seven years later with the reserve team in the Segunda División B in the final trace of the 2008–09 season. The winger played the last ten minutes of the 2–1 loss to Universidad de Las Palmas CF, and managed to play in another nine games that season. However, he spent the following campaign with the third team, and was officially promoted to the second on July 2010. He scored his first goal on 9 January 2011, in a 1–4 win over Coruxo FC.
